Yeah I don't find this to be about god at all. It seems like he's speaking to someone he's close to, but who isn't as close to him as he would like. The girl who runs off with other guys, but always comes running back to him, and he's reassuring her that she can count on him to be there, even when everyone else isn't. There's nothing specific in the song to back that up, but that's just how I feel about it. |

On the subject of the black and white line, in the original recording it's, "everything looks worse in black and white," but on the live Concert in the Park CD it's, "everything looks better in black and white." Thoughts? Simple mistake, or did the passage of time make him change his mind? |
