| Daughtry – All These Lives Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I used to think this song was about suicide, then I thought it was about child abduction, but then there was one line in the song that changed it for me. The way he sings "A father, mother asking why this world must be so cold" is like he is refering to one person. So I now I think that it's about the dad leaving them just starting a new life, so the world outside knows he's alive, but he's not coming back home. | |

| He also said in that article that "It's about getting a revenge on a bully at school by slicing pieces off of him" | |

At first I thought it was about a guy who had finally come out of his cage (opened up his heart) and he was thinking the worst of what could happen, and he kissed her and he goes home and visualizes all that she might be doing behind his back. But after I thought about it, I'm sure that he comes out of his cage, but I think that he was all caged up in the first place because he had just been hurt by a realtionship. And i think it was because he slept with one of his friends that was a girl, and things became akward because of it. And I think that he opened up and he was dating another one of his friends that was a girl, and saw everything going fine, but when he kissed her, all he could remember was falling asleep and then he visualizes him and her going through it all. "And she’s calling a cab While he’s having a smoke And she’s taking a drag Now they’re going to bed And my stomach is sick And it’s all in my head But she’s touching his—chest Now, he takes off her dress Now, let me go" And he figured he had lost another friend. But he wakes up and she's not there, and she won't tell him anything about anything after the kiss. And he never knows what really happened that night. |

The song is about a guys perspective and experiences with a girl he knows and loves. She's one of those girls that goes back and forth, getting tired of being with one person, and he never gets over it. She leaves him looking for someone else, and he still loves her, and when she needs someone he's always there for her. He is put through the vicious cycle of her leaving and coming back. In this song, it's like he's telling her what it's like, because he knows that she was going to do it again that night. So he tells her to just say it and get it over with so she can come back. She always comes back to him because she know he will take her back. He wants to get his point across that no matter what happens, no matter what he does, it's all the same...because she'll be running back to him. |

This is my favorite song of all time. It always has been and always will be. Anyway, this song has a very general meaning to it. Yes it is about a girl of course, but it was written so it could be connected to other things (like family) as well. But he's saying that he loves them so much that he's willing to truly change who he is, so he could be with them. |

| This song is about a girl that died after the two of them had sex that night. She dies, and he can't forget how it felt to be with her, and so he kills himself. And if you listen to the song, it gets hard and soft, and hard and soft, then it gives one final hardcore scream of pain, then it fades away, which is him feeling his life falling away. | |
