The circle vent is cycling (?) = The circumfile needs cycling That's one of my favorite lines ever. What brilliant use of language. |

| The Sound of Animals Fighting – Act II: All is Ash or the Light that Shines Through it Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Flesh is heretic My body is a witch I am burning it. It's from a poem, Anorexic by Eaven Bowland www.poemhunter.com/poem/anorexic/ The theme of TSOAF, to me, is rising out of our flawed human forms into higher consciousness. Thus, the repeated use of the first lines of this poem. |

Half the damn comments on this website about TSOAF is "who sings what" or "whos really in the band"... Can't we discuss the meanings at least a little bit??? There's so much... this band isn't about who's in it or who's singing, that's all ideally anonymous... it's about the places the music takes you, the deep unconscious parts of yourself it exposes. Try truly listening instead of having stupid conversations (even in your own head) about who's who or how much you prefer this vocalist or blah blah blah. Experience, sans judgement. |

Or the water tower is your personal source of the unconscious/soul. I like this interpretation the best. |

| The Sound of Animals Fighting – Chiriacho Summit Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| ^^ It's really interesting to interpret it through celtic paganism as well. Could be about moving from the sea to the ground/sky. The water tower leaks from the heart, down into the sea. No retreat, keep your eyes fixated upwards. | |

Who the hell cares who's singing, isn't the whole point of this band to let go of your preconceptions, stop judging, and simply feel? You're thinking about all the wrong things. |

The water tower bleeding from the heart refers to how the outside world is viewed/manifested through the lens of the heart (4th chakra). If you're not conscious of the heart, you're not going to be seeing/creating good int he world around you. |

I find it amazing that Evol Intent, one of my fav DnB DJ/producers, remixed a song by one of my favorite bands (and by my many of my favorite musicians, RxB). My god, it's all coming together. |

| Streetlight Manifesto – We Will Fall Together Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I really think this song is about the realization of a spiritual crisis... the acceptance of death and rejection of fear. My interpretation isn't really religious, just spiritual. The whole album feels that way to me. I don't think he's for or against religion, just against strict dogma. Anyways... In general it's something he feels, and that lots of us feel. Some of it comes off to me as advice to himself and to those who are going through the same inner battles (like "You need to tell us where to stand"). The first few lines are about how the "guy" spends all his time obsessing over death and what comes next that he's become disconnected from his life around him. His heart stopped connecting with things outside of him. He doesn't even realize it's an issue ("We know not what we do") and the "Can you hear them call" refers to the inner subconscious voice (or whatever religious term you'd want to use) that each of us has, but few of us truly realize. From the sky to the ground to the sea is kind of like saying the whole inner universe. In many spiritualities, the sky is your heart and everything above the ground is everything below the heart, and the sea is the world outside of you that you connect to. No one can save you now because you've gone too far, you have to reap what you've sown... you have to save yourself, nobody can do it for you (reminds me of "i'll draw your bath and i'll load your gun, but i hope so bad that you bathe and hunt") "They" (probably a part of the self, or other people that you're projecting onto) are just watching because there's nothing they can do, you have to come to the realization yourself... and then you will be meek, and you'll... rise. Your sense of self is located in your stomach, and that's what I think it refers to - when you finally let go of all your headgames and bullsh*t and your true self works its way up into your consciousness. We will fall together refers to how everything is connected. If one facet of you "falls", it'll bring the rest down with it. The subject of the song can't connect his heart to anything... and love is the source of so much of the good in the world. No wonder he's falling. Again, you have to fix it yourself, or you'll roam forever in the void. Also it makes me think about collective consciousness, but I'm not gonna get into that :P The beaten and abused refer to that inner true self that you've been suppressing, or perhaps your soul that you've been denying all these years. Oh how glorious it will be to finally let go of those inhibitions and set it free! And "the day will come as sure as the ever setting sun" refers to the infinite nature of your soul and how no matter what you do, at some point the truth will come. And those that self imposed (your b.s., false sense of self/importance, excessive pride, etc.) will be put on full display, when the day comes and the forces of truth rise. There's no avoiding the consequences of your actions. The line drawn in the wet sand bit is about how you need to be decisive to BE. You can't just float around, you need to state yourself. Otherwise, you're living through death (and fear). Everything they warned us of is true to me refers to the warnings from religious groups and spiritualities about vices and "sin"... I think it's about the realization of why they're truly bad. A lot of religions don't take you all the way... they stop at a certain point in spiritual development and the result can be varied... I think the fury of a soldier who will answer to his god part is about that. If you can't reach down deep enough and simply feel it, you're going to have at least a partly intellectual conception of "God", as opposed to a true spiritual connection. Whether you believe in god or not, the principle is the same. You get stuck in loops up high in "the sky" and that's where fanaticism comes from... valueing those loops as "God" (could be pride, money, a deity... anything... it's just fear.) Anyways, with logic and love you can build up from the bottom and defeat those "demons"... and fill up the sky, the ground, and the sea with them. And live your true self. So... hope that didn't come off as preachy or anything, I find Streetlight's lyrics incredibly inspiring. Not many people can convey the confusion of life so eloquently, and even if they can, few are willing to really show themselves to the world. I've always loved how the point of view is existential and depressing, but the music is upbeat and happy sounding. To me, it comes from the point of view that you have a choice to make about life... ("everyone here has to choose a side, tonight") Are you gonna choose life or death? Love or fear? Truth or deception? Happiness or depression? If only it were easy... Their music feels just like life... hanging somewhere in the balance, in the in between. |

| Rx Bandits – Only For the Night Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think the most important line is the first one, "there's a girl stuck in the mirror" It's a self-perception. Maybe it's his lover's inability to clearly see herself for what she truly is and it creates a barrier to true unity. |

| Rx Bandits – Never Slept So Soundly Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Again I think it's about a soul he hasn't met face to face. | |
| Rx Bandits – In Her Drawer Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Love is the solution, not the drugs shoved down your throat. (no offense to people who really do need them) And I think the "Would you, would you ever" part is one of the most intense pieces of music i've ever heard. Does anyone else feel like they know exactly what he's asking? It can't really be explained... I would... but can I? |

| Rx Bandits – Falling Down The Mountain Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think it's about how nobody lives from the heart, we suppress it because we're afraid. Keep it locked down, we're barely living, just surviving. |

| Rx Bandits – Crushing Destroyer Lyrics | 18 years ago |

We need a rager... the biggest party in the world... to elevate the human consciousness a step. One aspect of humanity is hiding the secret, and isn't even fully aware of it... we need to pull it out and change the world. |

| Rx Bandits – Apparition Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I disagree, I think it's a soul that he can feel sometimes but whoever it is never addresses him directly, almost teasing him, dangling the greatest love he could ever have right in front of his eyes. That's why she's sneaking through his corridor, floating, lurking, wandering... he loves her, but she's not talking "face to face" and giving herself to him... it's just out of reach. It just hasn't surfaced in the physical world... yet. It goes with the meaning of the word apparition too. |
