I have the live version of this song too and its amazing. I love how he messes up, but it somehow makes the song better.

I always thought the line about the album cover was interesting. I think he may be referring to the cover of Lifted, which shows people up in a tree with monsters (maybe a lion and something else) biting at their heels. I agree with everyone who said that the raw quality of the song makes it better. I think the emotion can come through more when a recording isn't perfect and polished. |
