| Vampire Weekend – Giving Up the Gun Lyrics

Anyone else think if Richard Ayoade directed two of their videos and also starred in sitcom "The IT Crowd" which was from the same team which created the sitcom "Father Ted" which made frequent use of the catchphrase "go on, go on, go on..." ? Maybe Ezra has seen Father Ted? Obscure british sitcom reference?

I think it's "those words somehow meant more to you than who they were written for." could be wrong but that makes more sense to me. |

people we both know in common... broken bones... i think i've had too many of these conversations with those girls you meet and you just fall in some kind of "love" in strange situations and never see again. it's like i know this story, it's pretty funny really, i wouldn't care to hazard a guess at how many people have been in this situation before me or how many times i've been there. mike is very good at capturing this kind of thing. |

On every page of every book could be a reference to Orchid - Chaos Ain't Me "Buy a book, read up, I'm on every page!" Did Will fall out with Jayson? |

It's about a lot of bands. Any band that inspires, really. Karl wrote it and used to yell out different band names when they would play "Thank You." A few of the bands names mentioned were The Last, X, and Black Flag among others. I figure it's just a general shout out to the feeling you get when you really love a band. |

| The Promise Ring – A Broken Tenor Lyrics

i always saw this song referring to the other songs on this album.
"Red. Blue." (red and blue jeans)
"Where are you tonight" (is this thing on?)
"But I'm not as good as the inner states are; I can't take you that far." (make me a chevy)
"he thinks every Russian girl is you." (forget me)
"The countries really far from me." (nothing feels good)
"I live on a dead end street where men and women meet." (raspberry rush)
"Where the seasons get universal." (pink chimneys)
"our hair knows. Your hair knows the top of your T-shirt and your back was up in arms about it." (B is For Bethlehem)
I kinda always just figured that's what this was all about. |

i've always heard these lyrics differently to how they are printed here and I think these are wrong aswell as the ones for New Candles. I think it's "I give more mouths to feed than I could ever fit in.
This autumn; you go have a good time. |

i can remember buying this record on a 7" single when i was about 19 i think, I loved TITR at the time and i still do and admittedly hadn't heard TPR before except for in passing at friends houses or whatever and I didn't listen to E.Texas avenue for a few months after I'd got it but when i did it, it blew me away and I've loved the promise ring ever since. Anyways, I just signed up to tell that interesting story haha. |
