| I actually prefer the new ones. I also like this in the key of G, as opposed to the Walt Disney Concert, which is in E. | |

I agree, though I never realized I felt that way. I've always felt like the lyrics, the vocals, were directed at ME. |

| ladiedanielle37 is right. Everyone else who says this song is about a girl is wrong. | |

I think this song is about him trying to run from himself. The more I listen to OneRepublic the more convinced I am that they have some underlying religious meanings..this lyric in this song really made me start noticing the little refrences.... -Posted by Abby14 I'm glad someone finally sees it. |

I hate when people assume Muse songs are about relationships. Yes, they do right about Love but much of their stuff is actually about the world and badly we treat each other and just stuff like that. Very political. Very convicting in a way. Next time you listen to Muse, analyze it. Think about the lyrics and how they wouldn't apply to a relationship. Inductive logic shows that most songs are about relationships but Muse is definitely an exception. Listen people. Use your minds. They are there for a reason. |

| Muse – Hate This and I'll Love You Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Once again, I 100% DISAGREE with those trying to say that this is a song about a relationship. 90% of Muse songs are NOT about relationships. I agree with those saying this song is about people and how people want Muse to live up to certain stereotypes. How they feel like people think Muse is their to simply service them with music that they like and not what comes from their soul. In conclusion, I think this song is about people pressuring Muse into being unoriginal and cliche when Muse is trying to say that they can be so much the opposite of that. |

Why do people always try to say that Muse's songs are about love? 90% of Muse's songs are NOT about love. K? Think a little deeper than that people. And good job to those who are actually intelligent enough to look closer than the surface. |

lol, and to Dierdra, that is called AMBIGUITY. It is a very very common trait to any GOOD song or work of literature. Ambiguity means "to have 2 or more possible meanings." Unfortunatly, you will not see it in most pop music. That's why I like Muse. They know how NOT to be cliche in ALL aspects of their writing. Not just their musical aspect. |

by lankmccormack on 10-01-2005 @ 05:03:35 AM Alot of Muse's songs are to do with breaking up and love and stuff!! ------------------------------------------------------------ I strongly disagree with this. |

| Muse – Fillip Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Also, as stated earlier, fillip also means "one that is trivial or of little importance." Well if you've ever heard Matt say "Floccinaucinihilipilification" (yes, it's a real word) and you know what it means then you should see the connection. The 3rd meaning to fillip and the meaning of floccinaucinihilipilification are along the same lines. Look'em up. | |

by Bobo192 on 09-08-2002 @ 07:04:35 AM A fillip is a stimulus. Used by Shakespeare in the play "Troilus and Cressida". I think we need to look closer at this. It would not be the first time Matt has based a song off of a play. If I'm not mistaken, The Small Print is about a character from a play. btw, this is in no way a "coming out of the closet song". |

| I agree with theyellowpoppy. This song is all about God. 'specially "where your love has always been enough for me." | |
