Personally I feel this songs meaning is obvious... Clearly if love involves so much heart ache give it to the birds, but we as people have no choice being wired to feel love as though it's a drug that we keep coming back to even though we know that there is a chance that it will involve many forms of possible heartbreak. |

No comments?? I CANNOT HAVE THIS!!! It is because of this very song, that within 10 minutes I will be able to say I bought a CD for the first time in almost 5 years... This band is so beyond worth it. I only wish I weren't agoraphobic so I could go see them and AWOLNATION here in st.louis within the month. *sigh*. This song is so good that it ALMOST gives me the courage. |

it is "a place" its not playtime because A:playtime wouldnt fit with the melody....
my boyfriend used to think it was "a plague" which actually sounds perfect there... but its not....
and yes, it is about corruption and how low societies "higher" class will sink now days... just because beauty (the young) doesn't come at a price, and the (rich) already have the money and reputation to toss around..
looking back now on the other explanations, Bunny-lo had it pretty much down to a tee. |

I love this, when i heard it I was like "whaaaaat an Edward Gorey reference?? wow" The Gashlycrumb Tinies is a book about 26 children, names beginning with the next letter in the alphabet (like shown here), that end up dead in some crazy/odd (yet interesting!) way. The difference is, Gorey illustrated hahahahahahaha.. yeah.. im horrible.
but there you have it, the original idea behind this song, and i dont care what anyone has to say.

It IS in fact a play off Edgar allen poe. Not only is it a killer song but the video for it is pure genius and is extremely amazing... I love this band with all my ill beating heart :D
