A Wilhelm Scream – Famous Friends and Fashion Drunks Lyrics 16 years ago
mh...if it wasn't for the title, I would definitely say this song talks about trying to get signed. Does that make sense to you guys? You just want an offer, you just want a response from those who are supposed to listen to your music and give you a chance, and you end up suffering...don't know...it really sounded something like that. also the sentence "you'd never chase another dream again" I understod the dream as the dream of doing something with your music. what do you think?

A Wilhelm Scream – I Wipe My Ass With Showbiz Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, all comments are correct. The song goes verse-chorus, verse-chorus and solo, but it's way of being ironic, definitely. The song in fact is a very good song, but it's short and technically much easier to play than the others, and easier in its structure. Put at the beginning it's like an ironical statement.

Strung Out – Cult Of The Subterranean Lyrics 17 years ago
It's like Dante Alighieri's mental trip to Hell. It's about using drugs and getting late at night; opening up your mind's eyes. It's seen as a creed, he describes theirselves as a race, the subterrenian. Good metaphor

A metaphor between LA and the end of the world, apocalypse

Strung Out – Barfly Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, the title Barfly speaks itself. But the words of the song sound more like drug abuse to me. What about "one more fix", or "take the edge away"? Couldn't it be about drugs?

Strung Out – Contender Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah, agree with Serenity. It describes how everyone struggles for their goals, but nothing lasts forever, even fame and glory. So for the record. And so for anyone of us ("how will I fade away"). When the champion used to win he was considered as being a myth, but once he's lost no one cares anymore. Though he's a man, because he proves it by being able to lose, paradoxically. A latin proverb says "sic transit gloria mundi". like what the song is about

Strung Out – Party in the Hills Lyrics 18 years ago
Spending the night using drugs with a girl (hills-boobs, dance-sex), and blowing theirselves away. Yeah, there is some negative thinking about how we are only clockwork devices, so it justifies all this self destruction with drugs.

Strung Out – Angeldust Lyrics 18 years ago
Well, this song is actually a little bit more complex. It has a double meaning. Yeah, the pcp trip makes sense, it's obviously about someone addicted: the alabaster hands are the hands of someone who's been using drug for a long time, so the veins are protruding and they look like alabaster. But still he's like an angel, someone different than normal people, someone who wants to fly higher. Because of his difference he's "an anomaly" so he can't fit in the everyday life and angeldust is a way to fly higher. Nevertheless the wings can't take the weight of the fall, he doesn't know "all the pain he's gonna find" in life, even after these trips, where his interior world gets clearer. In the end it's a metaphor played beetwen the image of an angel as a different being, and the angeldust, the drug.

Strung Out – Jackie O Lyrics 18 years ago
In my view this song is ironical and Jackie is considered as an opportunist. Even the title shows that: Jackie O (Onassis), with the name of her second husband.

Strung Out – Her Name in Blood Lyrics 18 years ago
This is S.O's hardest song to decipher in my view. It could be what you said. But it could also talk about a girl who blows herself away with her sexual behaviour and feels guilty because she has a religious background; this sense of guilt brings her to do the same things again to punish herself...maybe, don't know...anyway it's about these essays...

Strung Out – Analog Lyrics 18 years ago
Like many other Strung Out songs, the answer is in the title: ANALOG. This song in fact can be written two ways: aimed to a girl or to life. In the end it turns into a reflection over human condition, the afterlife and these things.

Strung Out – Party in the Hills Lyrics 18 years ago
This song isn't written from the perspective of a drug-addict, and it's not critical about that. It's a Jason's experience, and it's about having fun with drug and a girl. I directly asked him about this song after a show, and that's what he said. He smiled making me notice the title "party in THE HILLS", remarking what HILLS mean...
