Guitar playing, and guitar players, continually evolve. A very few have come along and really pushed that progress, like Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen as mentioned before.
Today there are many guitarists that amazingly technically proficient, like Steve Vai, John Petrucchi (sp?), Michaelangelo Battio and my personal fav, Buckethead, but they have achieved little commercial success. That doesn't mean they don't have passion; I don't think people have an interest in that type of music anymore. |

I remember Uncle Kracker performing this song on Jay Leno when he first went solo, and I thought it was some sort of gag. This song is so boring and derivative. How long did it take him to "write" this song, 5 minutes? 3? It says something about people that this was a huge number one hit. |

Whoa, I saw a Genesis discography and I thought "Isn't that a Sting song"? I was getting it confused with Englishman in New York. I'm not sure that I've ever heard this song. |
