id agree it's about an ex but i suppose that now that they are no longer dating, he's doing so well and she's lagging behind and it kills her to see him do better, because maybe before she was on top, too? i always interpreted cancer as a symbol of his ability to spread amongst the people so easily, but at the same time, he's not healthy for any of them. especially the girl. this is literally shown in the "spike the punch" line. |

Okay. heres my take. with the balaclava on (a face mask), you can be who ever you want. It gives you a rush. you can pull her from a burning building and be the hero, or throw her to the sharks and be the villain but in the end, he just wants the girl! so he has her... but he doesnt want to show her who he really is. :) simple as that. |

This is supposedly about something that isn't good for you, but you're addicted to it anywho. like, cigarettes, drugs, gambling, etc. This particular one (as stated in an interview) is about a girl. He just realized she as bad for him, so he wants to escape. but then he decides against it..."Desperately trying to stimulate what it was that was alright Three quarters of an hour ago" then "That had led him to be in a position And every copper mission On every other episode" he goes back thinking it will be all right, but it just goes back to something terrible again. :( brilliant song, really. I love it! |

| Arctic Monkeys – Do Me a Favour Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think "Perhaps fuck off might be to kind" and "Break my nose" mean that he HAS cheated on her (as stated a million times) and the DID break up (again, redundant). But he hates himself for it. And he can't stand her crying and he just wants to redo it, but he can't. He doesn't like to see her sad, and he wants her to lash out, like he wants to lash out at himself (thus "do me a favour"). It's a tragic song, really. Because I think that even though he still loves her, he cheated on her anyway and he doesn't think he's good enough for her any more so he doesn't even try to get back together. :( Poor alex. Or maybe he just really didn't like her anymore. lolz. that would be anticlimactic. |

Ok. Ntw, I think I'll just say one thing. Although the Americans were oppressed by the British at first... we wouldn't be there without them, so wtf? If anything, we copied their culture first. And bird isn't meant to be "Sexist". you realize it's the same as calling a girl "chick" or "betty" or any other american term we have. I'm from the U.S., and compared to all the other places I've been, i hate it here! Arctic MOnkeys are amazing and you are just whiney. |
