Great new song by Sufjan, can't wait to see what his next album looks like. Too me the song is some what self-explanatory but with a couple of deeper meanings underneath the veneer. For the most part it seems like its a male scared of love or to love, and says that there is too much love as an excuse, but I could be wrong.

i think this song is not just about drugs or just about a girl but i also think it may have to do with suicide. I'm not saying that cause it was written when he was thinking/committing it but that half of what was on "From a basement on a hill" was cut by his family/girlfriend for suicide related themes. Idk i may be thinking to hard as usual bu its just something to think about |

as i christian i see it as david pointing out that like people say some christians are to worrried about you seeing it they way they do and forcing it down your throat that they dont take the time to hear what you have to say and care about you and letting your example convert people. I could be wrong im not sure put thats my feeling from the way the song comes across and from expierence |
