Placebo – Happy You're Gone Lyrics 16 years ago
I completely agree with this. I don't get why people think it is about Steve. Brilliant song and great album.

Placebo – Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush cover) Lyrics 17 years ago
I find it hard to decide who's version i prefer, i've always loved the original kate bush version. But placebo add an intensity that really makes you feel the lyrics. The line "Tell me we both matter, don't we?" sang by molko is haunting. Wheras the within temptation version adds an aggression to the song and the line "Unaware i'm tearing you asunder, there is thunder in our hearts" is so powerful. Placebo are amazing, and this song is incredible.

Placebo – Drink You Pretty Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is probably my favourite placebo song, it's so blindingly true and don't we all wish we could drink the world pretty?

Placebo – Without You I'm Nothing Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is so beautiful, in a really melancholy way. To me it shows how you can be so caught up in someone/something that it becomes you, and you're left with nothing. With amazing guitar and brian's voice, it's amazing. I quote another user to sum it up perfectly "the guitar at the beginning sounds like it's crying"

Alanis Morissette – Forgive Me Love Lyrics 18 years ago
Why would nobody have commented this!? shame on you alanis fans. This song is overlooked being a bonus track, but she proves she doesn't even need the music. It tells a story of a situation many of us have been before and really depicts rawness of human emotion in the way that only she can

Alanis Morissette – Can't Not Lyrics 18 years ago
i like the meaning cookieman put forward, i think you could easily attribute it to that, but i also think there are other interpretations referring to a particularly volitile relationship that she feels she cannot handle, and as for SFIJ by far her best album

Alanis Morissette – 21 Things I Want in a Lover Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree with butter-fliege in that the song is most definately not satirical because of the admirable qualities she chooses. I also think it has a great sentiment "I figure i can decribe as i have a choice in the matter" this means to me that it's ok to want things of people, and you shouldn't just settle.

Alanis Morissette – Joining You Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is one of my favourites by this extemely talented artist. She manages to use such powerful language to put across her compassions and sympathies for this friend and his suicidal thoughts. The line ending "...you were beautiful." really hits me hard, such is the emotion she can get across
