This song to me is about him getting really into his music and less into his girl.

And he seemed so perfect to the girl, but in reality he's not the perfect guy she thought he was...
He's feeling down and breaks it off with her.
He gets into a part of his life where he wants to be single because he needs time to get himself together.

Anyone hating on FNM is a complete moron. Especially such a song as "Epic". It was great when FNM did it, and it was still good when Atreyu did it. Trying to rap? Think about this jackasses: When this song was written in the late 80s/early 90s, this was one of the first songs to successfully incorporate rapping with metal/rock, and even influenced many rappers to add metal/rock elements to their songs. Ironically, this song isn't about anything particularly.. "It" is just "it". "It" is whatever you want it to be. Genius song, and ironically named "Epic", seeing as big of a "one-hit-wonder" this was for FNM. Get out of here scene kids trying to diss good music. |

I have a feeling this song is about Gerard (MCR)... With the falling out they had. It's pretty straight forward, and one reason I think this is about Gerard is because the lyrics never say he is talking about a girl. |

This song is definitely about Bert... As for the "Album Wars" (6 prison 6), it seems they both are saying they still care about each other but they are having disagreements. But through it all, out of all the songs, it seems like they just miss the shit out of each other. Very good song though. |
