i think that she runs away from the circus, which could possibly represent our crazy ass society. after all, she goes "out in the cold". how would going INTO the circus represent that.
also a strange coincidence, in the band there is one girl and 3 boys. in the song the song there is one girl (the dame) and three boys (the men that shout). i'm not sure what it means, but i just wanted to bring it up. |

i believe he knows that his relationship isn't really working out, but he is afraid for it to end. i bet the girl is the same one in black dresses, and she seems kinda controlling and rather mean.
and for the person who said it's dark, if u listen to their other songs, you'll realize that it's kinda a dark band in a quiet way. |

this is my favorite song, and for some reason i love the line "the ceremony wasn't proper enough, there weren't enough people, and how the music sucked and what not. it kinda reminded me of my grandma's funeral and memorial, how even there were plenty of people, some of them were there for cake, it felt like to me. i was mean and moody all day
but enough about me. this song to me says he had a rather controlling girl friend, and in later songs it sounds like she brok up with him. |

in this song, first of all i love it, and second of all, i'm not sure, but in the distorted beginning, i think he said said something about "just messing around". he could be saying this isn't really true, he's not a murderer, and it could be saying that she said they were just messing around, i don't know. i'd like to hear your thoughts if that is what he possibly said. also, in Jenny, i was suprised nobody ever mentions the sirens, like obviously the police or something. and what does it mean when he says "then u whisper in my ear, i know what you're doin' here?" and finally, (i copied this from someone) in midnight show, Driving out to wherever he’s taking her , I think the conscience starts to kick in inside his head – “There's something in my head, Somewhere in the back said, We were just a good thing, We were such a good thing” – I think “let me take a little more off your mind” is being sarcastic as he’s about to kill her. “make it go away” is referring to the voice in his head….and also possibly her dead body after he realizes what he’s done. |

ok, i love this song and i first heard it yesterday but i've already half memorized it.
i think its about maybe how u can get trapped by love, with nowhere to go, cause the land and water are dangerous, meaning a break up could happpen. possibly, the light house is a place to go to sorta save them selves, even theough they know things aren't working out. the ghost girl is there becuse i beleive she loved a sailor, but perhaps he died or didn't love her back, so she was stuck there in that light house, going no where with love. same thing happened to the singer and her lover. possibly. |
