My interpretation of the song: Man has chosen to create an illusion of safety because he doesn't want to have to deal with reality. This idea is most evident in America, where it's so easy for people to ignore or minimize the problems going on in the rest of the world (and even in some parts of our own country) because we've created this world that's supposedly perfect, where no one understands what true poverty is because most of us have never experienced it and we definitely haven't been forced to deal with it. |
