| it's such a sad song but at the same time, the song sounds so happy. it's the only song that i've found that makes death sound a bit better - so instead of being sad about losing someone, they're saying that they'll meet again which just makes me happier about losing my uncle to cancer a while ago. | |

the first time i heard this song, i just got caught up in the beat in the beginning..it totally captured me. i still think it's about suicide. "how's your halo" is such a sweet line and "Could I have saved you? Would that have betrayed you?" it's like he's thinking back and wondering whether he could have stopped them and if he had, would they have been mad that he kept them from commiting suicide. and then the line "for blue skies" and "i'll forgive you" just make me think that he's saying just to make things happier and better and just to clear things up, i'll forgive you |

i've always thought that this song was about him finding someone to fall in love with. I thought that dark blue was him being depressed. "if you've ever been alone, you'll know dark blue" it's like you don't know what dark blue is until you're sad and lonely. and i always thought that he was falling to quickly for the girl like: "All I can see is the planets in a row suggesting it's best that I Slow down." but then it says "this night makes a perfect shade of dark blue" and i thought that it was him thinking that it was bitter sweet because he felt so good with her but was afraid of feeling so in love. |
