OH GOSH ! this song is pure excellence. i must say i beleive this song to be about a man who is on a cruise, and meets a lovely woman. this woman is not match for him as he is rich "makes money like fred astaire" and funnyily enough he falls in love with her. he wants her to want him, but he knows he cant be with this girl as she is not worthy of him. even though they are in love. "We sail today Tears will drown in the wake of delight There's nothing like this built today You'll never see a finer ship in your life" this is his contradiction - they sail today in love and the tears will part them when then have to leave the cruise. but he still wants her to know that he is the greatest man she will ever be with. also the "I am the scavenger between the sheets of union" he loves her more whe nthey are making love. well thats my interpretation i hope someone can understand. haha |

Best song ! i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee it so much ! i fugured it to be about, like the world is turning into a horrible place basically and there are certain people responsible for it. (im not sure who) and 'they want the free land to expire' like, they want the world to work for them and no one else. they want to own it. thats the gist i get. |
