| The Chicks – Travelin' Soldier Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Gets me every time. My boyfriend is in the army, and he told me to listen to this. He has to go to Afghanistan next November. I worry myself sick over it... The meaning is obvious, aside from the last part about the piccolo player and everything. Calling a younger girl a "little girl" is just something that country singers do- it doesn't necessarily mean that she was very young, like a child, but that she was decently young, like a teenager. I wish I could understand the last part. I don't want it to mean that he died, even though I know that's probably the case, seeing as this is a country song. The piccolo player is most likely the little girl with the bow in her hair. |

| Noah and the Whale – Second Lover Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I agree with lulinasaurus, I think that it is about an internet affair, which is why it is called "Second Lover." | |
| Pete Droge – Going Whichever Way the Wind Blows Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think that the ride is referring to life in general, not a literal ride. "Spacing on the road map, useless dots and lines"- he is saying that planning isn't going to help, whatever is meant to happen will happen. "Let it go, it will get easier, let it go, just enjoy the ride"- just live. | |
| Minus the Bear – Patiently Waiting Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"Move, baby, move your life is falling on you" I really, really, really, like that and this song should've been on the album, not the bonus disc |
|
| Trisha Yearwood – Georgia Rain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I relate this song and Strawberry Wine, too. | |
| Annuals – Brother Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Whoa, I love this, I love the way it builds up, and then just kind of ends. The meaning is pretty obvious- simple childhood, but then he grew up, and he misses it. |

"There was cowboy Neal at the wheel of the bus to never ever land." Cowboy Neal= Neal Cassady |

| The Fray – Vienna Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Long distance relationship that isn't going to work out... "Maybe in five or ten yours and mine will meet again and straighten this whole thing out." |
|
| The Fray – You Found Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
People make me sick arguing about faith on here... if someone takes it as a song about God, let them take it that way, and if they don't, then they don't... a song means something different to everyone. I personally think it's about God, judging by what 3xX posted from Isaac. |

| The American Analog Set – Punk As Fuck Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is gorgeous. I expected different judging by the title. I was pleasantly surprised. | |
| Eric Whitacre – Sleep Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| What an absolutely gorgeous song. We dedicated this song to my recently retired choral director's son, who died because of epilepsy. By the end of it, there was not one dry eye in the chorus or in the audience. It's such a powerful and beautiful song... I really want to perform it again. Macauley is right, it's about submitting to a sleep that you won't wake from. | |

The best translation I could find was here: http://lyricwiki.org/Sigur_R%C3%B3s:G%C3%B3%C3%B0an_Daginn Regardless of what he says, it's a beautiful song. |

| Minus the Bear – Guns and Ammo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sounds to me like two people who are quick to blame each other, or to bring up things from the past... something like that. Great song. | |
| Needtobreathe – Shine On Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I love this song for the way it sounds, and for the way that the lyrics can be interpreted so clearly in two ways- religiously and relationship wise. Trust in God, and what kirotourmaline said, evaluating a relationship. It's a beautiful song. | |
| The Academy Is... – About a Girl Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Yayy, first :D I just heard this song, and I immediately took it as a guy saying that he's maybe pretending to be in love, or he's tricking himself into being in love, because that's what he wants. I could be wrong, and I probably am. Any other suggestions? |

| Her Space Holiday – Tech Romance Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is just... amazing. What more can be said? Gives me chills every time. Her Space Holiday is an acquired taste, I believe that you have to be really into music to enjoy them. "You can show up at my house Completely unannounced We'll have that movie kiss we talked about Where there are no words Just a soft and gentle score Our ears will ring from all the strings" Wonderful. |

| Harry Chapin – Cat's in the Cradle Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song hits really hard for me, and it's difficult to explain why. I relate it to the relationship between my Papa and my dad. It's how I viewed their relationship, looking in from the outside. I heard it about a week after my Papa died, and I cried. I think everyone's pretty much explained what it means... the whole kids growing up fast, father not spending enough time with his son, son growing up like his father thing. |

| Jimmy Eat World – Hear You Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I know that this song is about the two girls from the Weezer fan club, but to me it means something else, as it does to each individual. I lost a friend a little over a year ago to Lupus. We were only fourteen, it was right before her fifteenth birthday. We weren't close any more, but when I had first moved to this big city from my little town, she was my first and only friend for a good while. "There's no one in town that I know/You gave us some place to go/I never said thank you for that/Now I'll never have the chance" reminds me of that. Then there's my favorite part, the part that gets me the most: "If you were with me tonight/I'd sing for you just one more time/a song for a heart so big/God couldn't let it live." That gets me every time. This song is beautiful, a definite favorite of mine. It means a lot to me, and instantly stops me dead in my tracks, and brings tears to my eyes. Wow. |

| Jackson Browne – The Barricades of Heaven Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
First. :] I like this song; I like how... simple the music is, but how much the words mean. As for exactly what the words mean, I don't know. I was hoping someone else could tell me, |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Tiny Vessels Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
this song is amazing. my boyfriend and i split up two days ago, on halloween, after a month and a half of being together. it doesn't sound like a long time, but so much happened and he left me hanging when we broke up, there's so much that i wonder. but anyways, this song reminds me of our break up, because he told me that he loved me, even before he said goodbye two days ago. i feel that this is what he thought, kind of i don't know. i found it the night that we broke up, and it made me cry. it's so beautiful, and well written, and it's been on repeat for the past two days. hopefully everything gets straightened out... "This is the moment that you know That you told her that you loved her, but you don't You touch her skin and then you think That she is beautiful, but she don't mean a thing to me Yeah, she is beautiful, but she don't mean a thing to me" I love this line. And this one: "As tiny vessels oozed into your neck And formed the bruises That you said you didn't want to fade But they did and so did I that day" They're so strong. Great song. |
