| This is a great interpretation of the Cure's song, its fresh, its soothing and her voice doesn't have to fight over the other instruments like The Cure's version. I have heard both versions, but it wasn't until I heard Katie's that I notice how great the lyrics are. Her voice brings the intimate meaning of what Smith's was trying to say when he wrote it. | |

The idea is that he is blaming other things for his own mistakes, and this is drowning her, making her hopeless because he doesn't' see that its his doing that is making bad things happen to him |

For my understanding, the song is about a brake up, and how she is seeing calm sees after the wave has come and left. "A rooftop crow's nest in a sea swell Oh, yes, I'm doing so well" The frighten notion of being something so small almost engulfed on a force of nature, but she is doing fine, and she will overcome it because she sees beyond it. Amazing song, one of the best song in Some people have real Problems' album. I believe that this person is a bit jaded about love, but she has found this guy, I don't think its a old flame, I think its a new one, she "ran away from good" every time she found it since she was waiting for the one she wanted, and this guy came, "not a day too soon". She will be selfless and give everything to this guy cause she knows this is the one she was waiting for. I enjoy the way she goes up in volume, like a way of celebration. A song that you can sing your heart out while driving! |

Meaning? pretty straight forward, he likes a girl that has a boyfriend and every time he tries to come up to her in more ways than friends, he holds back and looses the chance again "But I never said a word I guess I'm gonna miss my chance again" This is an amazing EP and if the other two are just like this one, I will really enjoy listening to them.
