You'll all fucking fools. WOW! This song has a fucking breakdown, and you think it's sick. KEEP IT TO YOURSELF! Oh and this song has soo much relevance to a surf spot and bodyboarding. You've pretty much hit the nail on the head there buddy, pfft. So if you like Parkway, then why don't you maybe check out some more Aussie hardcore? And no, not just Carpathian , Prom Queen and 50 Lions don't count. And BUY the cd's. |

"We fight this fight for the hopeless romantic" and "We take this on for the battered and broken" both speak for themselves. They know what it's like to have their heart broken, which reflets in "And i felt that way, we've all felt that way" The last two sentences mean that they, and everyone else should stand up and say no to partners who use them then just ditch them and leave them in an emotional mess. "And we'll no longer be slaves" |

Now this is what metalcore is about. ABR are another great metalcore band who use a different form of lyrical writing, where it seems more like the band is trying to tell you something. It makes them so much easier to interperate, and it also strengthens the meaning without the bullshit cliche "romance and suicide" theme plenty of bands are doing lyrically. Anyway, i think this song is about a guy who had just left a serious relationship, but then he's begins to be sucked in by her, and they are trying to tell him to move on and get over her, because he is only making things worse. I'm not gonna sit here and say that now that PWD have released Horizons that they're fucking sell outs. Hardcore is not about selling out (even though Parkway, in my opinion are metal, but thats a different matter). But, i believe lyrically, they don't have much left in them. McCall even said in an interview that after the release of Don't Close Your Eye EP that they never though they would release anymore cd's because they never thought they could produce anymore songs. Now although njhunter does make some pretty valid points about the lyrical trends plenty of hardcore bands are using today, the fact is that this song IS about soldiers going to war, although it's hard to interpret. Now in saying all of this, i believe KWAS and Horizons were no where near as lyrically effective as Dont Close Your Eyes. Lyrically it is a very good cd, and obviously they had time to sit down and write good lyrics. But after that release, the pressure and expectation of them writing new material got to them, so i believe all their other lyrics were rushed. And one more thing, if one more cunt leaves a comment on here plainly saying "Fuck, PWD roxx!!" im gonna crack it. This is a forum about the lyrics for intelligent people. Go join a new website where all the other dipshit fans write "pWd r a reeLLy kOOl baNd." |

| Great song lyrically. Marty talks about all the older, more experienced guys in the hardcore scene, especially the Australian scene, thinking they're top shit and putting shit on the new guys and younger generation. Unlike Crafter (the fucking has-been), Marty actually cares about the new guys entering the scene. | |
