Although i have not taken heroin myself i know how Gilmour must have felt when writing this song. He wrote it in the days when Pink Floyd were taking drugs day in day out and it describes how Gilmour felt one day when he was about to go onstage sober (i.e. without heroin in his blood) so instead he was given a shot of very strong painkillers. He later described it as the closest experience to heroin that he has ever had and that is what the song is about |

This song is probably my favourite Bloc Party Song. It fully describes my weekend life at the moment. Going out on a Saturday night, getting absolutely wasted and then describing the next day. It's how I feel every weekend and i always play it as soon as i wake up. Awesome song! |
