this is easily my favorite piece of poetry that has ever come out of keenan. i have that quote memorised, its my screensaver, and it has helped me in every aspect of my life.
if you think too much about something, your gonna get scared and your not gonna react how you'd like to. you miss opportunities and chances to do things that will never com again. just go for it, dont think about it.

the lyrics don tell you much, but a disposition is like a habit or a certain way of acting without having to think about it...watching the weather change may be watching his mood or actions change as his disposition/habit it revealed. |

thats probably not what the song means, and sir. maynard probably wasnt thinking that when he wrote it, but i think we're alll right...to me, thats what this song means, it may not mean that to someone else, but we all have our own interpretations for all songs. what i love about tool and APC is that the songs are open for interpreation and every song may mean something different to each person. it probably meant something to maynard when he wrote it, completely different from my interpretation, but the point of view and interpretation is often more important than the pre-decided meaning. it doesnt matter what songs mean...what do they mean to you? |

People watch TV all day, all night, they are influenced by it, it controls us, and turns us into sheep. if we are told to go to war, we'll do it, like sheep. The few sheep that think and escape try to save themselves are told to go back to sleep, back under the influence of authority. I think this song is about growing up and seeing the world. When we were younger, we had big dreams of being astranauts and millionairs, but when we grew up, we saw that the world is full of missed oportunities, and obstacles, we used to be young and we used to dream, and play with our friends in the perfect world, but we grew up and saw the world and lost those dreams. Looking back at our childhoods, There was no limit on what we felt we could achieve. Everything was perfect and would be forever; but it isnt, and the past looked so much sweeter. |

To me, this song is about a man who loves a woman, but she doesn't love him back. He asks her to pull him into her perfect circle (which means her life) but she doesnt. This is killing him and causing him pain. He was to cut away and forget about her but he can't. His love for her is keeping him from "killing her" which means forgetting about her and moving on...Killing the feelings he has for her becuase they're taking over his life and destroying him. |
