some of the other songs on this album, people suggested may be about his father? and as most of the album seems to be the same this could be aswell.. a way of expressing the depth of jeff's anger. the fact that it comes at the end of the album makes this more likely in my opinion. |

love this song, such an inspiration. i think you guys are right about the anti-depressants and a former lover, but the jameson is obviously alcoholism aswell so maybe its how we deal with whats getting us down on the surface in general.. but this song isnt just about that, its about trying to deal with all that while trying to play music. He says he hates this place, its because hes trying to get out and be a successful musician and not part of unchanging or "limbo" music scene. ie bands that dont really get off the ground and just kick around their hometown and nearby places before they give up well, theres my thoughts anyway =] |

to nero angelo cedric is the singer of mars volta no t the guitarist. to infared. a band doesnt have to be groundbreaking on every album, or heavy and in your face like you seem to appreciate Now im not saying ATDI and TMV aren't awesome, because they clearly are, but Sparta are just awesome.. the type of music these bands play means they cannot be compared to each other on the same level. Threes is one of these albums that you can listen to over and over again and something will leap out at you that you hadn't appreciated as much before, which in my opinion is the best thing about having an album. Three is definately NOT a step backwards. as for the meaning of this song.. i havent the foggiest :( |

i saw a live recording of this song and the singer said something about how with Ireland its been about the most peaceful in 500 years so lets all drink and finally have some peace. or something like that. it makes sense to me because the song doesnt seem totally pugnacious |
