Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks – The Hook Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's abou the difficulty of time travel nowadays, with the rising prices of oil barrels and, you know, the extinction of raptors.

Land of Talk – Speak to Me Bones Lyrics 18 years ago
I believe it's just about that, Glyphis. Anyway, Land of Talk's songs aren't too easy to understand. I mean, if they mean anything at all.

The Verve – Lucky Man Lyrics 18 years ago
I think it's just about masturbation. The guy feels lonely, but it's okay, all the love he has is in his mind. He's a lucky man, he got fire in his hands. Com'on, nobody mentioned this line, it's essential.
"Happiness / Something in my own place / I'm standing naked / Smiling, I feel no disgrace / With who I am" needing nobody, being able to know perfectly his lover - himself. It's a love that never dies, it's liberty.

Pearl Jam – Tremor Christ Lyrics 18 years ago
i've always thought of this as a song about euthanasia. someone, a man, slowly dies. the girl wants to assure that. the angels would be triumphant if they got there first (a natural death), but she already made her choice. she doesn't care about the reiligous implicance of it: i'll decide, take the dive, ... 'it's divine' is somewhat ironical. then she does it. turns the bow back towards him, drops the line: she kills him. puts her faith in loving.

Cat Power – Speak for Me Lyrics 18 years ago
I believe it's a feminist song. It's like: oh, you're a man, so you can speak for me? Can you read between the lines like i can't? Like she's ironizing some speech.

Cat Power – The Greatest Lyrics 18 years ago
I believe it's about a funeral. The big black armor is like a coffin; lower me down: bury me. The parade is the funeral parade. No one lives forever.
