Bruno Mars – Grenade Lyrics 15 years ago
Without doubt the laziest attempt at songwriting since the Black Eyed Peas wrote, well, anything.

Björk – Bachelorette Lyrics 17 years ago
Ok I know thhe song is about the "Isobel" character and relationship but does anyone else get a kind of religious undertone to the song. Im not religous but to me its kind of a double meaning song like the man/woman relationship is interchangeable with mankind/religion relationship- as if the singer was singing from God's point of view.

Ok I know that is kind of out there

ABBA – Chiquitita Lyrics 17 years ago
Im not really a fan of Abba but i always liked this song. For some reason I always thought this song was a kind of double meaning for Spain/Spanish people (my brain works in mysterious ways). I thought it was about Spain (being chiquitita) kind of finding/healing itself (sing once more) after the end of the repression by General Franco's Regime (the walls came tumbling down). Plus this song came out around 1978 (I think) and Franco died around 75 (I think)

Along those lines I think it is a very beautiful song

but

In hindsight I think Abba were anything but political so Ive probably misinterpreted it

Simon and Garfunkel – El Cóndor Pasa (If I Could) Lyrics 17 years ago
Wow, I always thought they sang "A man gets tied up to the cross, he gives this world its saddest song" as an allusion to Jesus. Isnt it mad the way your brain just puts words in that arent there- and Im not even that religious.

Rihanna – Umbrella Lyrics 18 years ago
Catchy song but feeble lyrics, song doesnt make much sence and uses alot of hackneyed phrases

The first verse is like the scribblings of a mental patient:

You have my heart
And we'll never be worlds apart ---- Unoriginal/Banal
May be in magazines
But you'll still be my star------ What??
Baby cause in the dark
You can't see shiny cars------- What??
And that's when you need me there
With you I'll always share------------Unoriginal/Banal

A masterclass in how not to write songs if you want to be seen a real songwriter

A masterclass in how to write generic soulless pop (might make you money but you'll sell your artistic soul)
