Yeah, in the lyric booklet it says "wanna leave out her name" and yeah, that kinda makes sense, but in the song it just sounds like "wanna nee nah nana nay" which is really frustrating.
Awesome song though, great message and the music really gets my head inside that small town and that town looks nice. |

I think that this song is about the epic struggle between people stating that this song was in Donnie Darko and other people telling them to stfu on this website. I'm pretty sure that that's what they had in mind when they were writing this. |

Same goes for if it sucks. Which is why I won't be giving this song (or any of the other songs on Hello Destiny) another listen.
What happened Goldfinger? You used to be cool. |

Ruviwuviweniven, no YOU get a life!
You didn't actually contribute anything related to this song when you posted either...so YOU don't post!
Here is how this song affected me: upon hearing these brilliantly written lyrics, I had a deep, profound desire to kick the author in the regina for creating the pollution that was being thrown into my atmosphere.
And she calls her crotch Vuh-geen-ah. Duh. |

What? Nah. There are only very few actual skacore bands out there. LTJ, RBF, MP and The Bosstones (half skacore) are ska punk at best, but that's what ska is now. And yes, the roots of ska were good, but kings? Well if that's what floats your boat, but The Specials wouldn't be able to make half the pit that Reel Big Fish can. And if you think Streetlight are the only ska worth listening to you're not even trying. |

Yeah I can't work that bit out either. It really does sound like "who de motherfucks" but that wouldn't really make sense in the context of the song, plus 'motherfucks' isn't a word. I'm not sure about the other suggestions...it's a bit hard to hear being a backing vocal line...maybe if I separate the tracks... |

This song sucks badly and the trombone part is just an insult to the instrument.
I could compare her voice to Regina Spektor too. I think...it's not quite as bad as Regina's, but definitely getting there. |

I disagree. I can't interpret this song to be about war, or really any Gorillaz songs. "I saw that day, lost my mind" - that could mean so many things, war isn't the only thing that makes people lose their minds, and even then, it's not THAT common.
To me, this song is just about relationships or whatever, losing or not even having someone. Excellent music though. |

I wanna agree with Nester, and I kind of flinched while listening to this song for the second time, as I noticed the second meaning of the last two lines. I can't imagine that that was Gorillaz's intended meaning, but it would make a whole lot more sense, and it is kind of exciting to think that maybe this was the intention. Turn yourself around to the Son (Christ).
So there it is folks. This world is dark and getting darker, but find rescue in the Son. |

I hate this song so much that I've taken it out of the playlist on my computer. It's just so haunting. I get an image of...anyone know The Library on the original Halo game? Well I see either 2D or myself walking around a smaller version of that place, all alone forever. The "Starshine, never gonna find me" part is about being stuck in this place underground, away from star light forever. |

Well. I don't think this song is about war, but I'm definitely going with the Abrams theory. When I first heard this song I thought of zombies and a helicopter coming to rescue some humans from zombies. But now days I think of the Gorillaz with a freshly purchased M1 A1, tearing around the desert singing this anthem.
And yeah, shells don't travel as fast as bullets and would quite likely hit a thousand miles per hour at some point in the trajectory (they shoot 'em upwards for distance seige). |

Yeah I can agree with a few of these meanings. I think it's about a guy moving or just going on a holiday from the city into the country side (slow country). And I also get a really vivid vision, mine of a little yellow car slowly winding along a road flanked by green grass and canola fields. The sound is the wind and in my vision the landscape is covered by dark clouds. Nice. |

| Britney Spears – Piece Of Me Lyrics

Why are you whinging about your brain? Britney Spears crashed because she's a celebrity, not because of some disorder.
But as for you, BPD isn't terminal, at least it shouldn't be. You shouldn't even be taking pills, it's completely curable without medication (yeah, seriously). The main reason people can't beat BPD is that they can't communicate well enough or they cling to the illusion that it has taken over their life. Make sure you're telling your psych everything and if you're still not cured, get a new one. Stop taking those pills and next time you're down, read a book or listen to some ska (Britney Spears' music won't help you). Seriously, once you pull yourself out of the catch 22, it's so easy to realise that you're lying to yourself, so, easy.
If people are making fun of you, it's because they know what I know and are amused that you haven't realised it for yourself yet. Good luck, homie. |

| Reel Big Fish – My Imaginary Friend Lyrics

I agree, this song must be about losing faith. The line that I can't make sense of though is:
All those heart-felt conversations
Were with me and no one else
So...what's going on there? But yeah, it makes me pretty sad that Aaron (I assume) couldn't find faith.
"please explain to me how this song is about God or Jesus, since RBF does not have a single other song that is even close to being religious"
As for you, why would they make more than one song about something they don't believe in? If you had actually read the lyrics, you probably would have realised that this song is about LOOSING faith. Not having it. |

| The Sound of Animals Fighting – Act I: Chasing Suns Lyrics

Hi, this is my first post on this site, but I really like analysing lyrics so I'm thinking this site looks pretty good.
For this this song, meanings aside, instead of "we multiply" or "it's qualified" try "grace glorified". That's what it sounds like to me. Oh and I'm using the version on the T&tD re-issue. Also in the 8th line I think I can catch the word "excursive" instead of "excuses" but it the rest is too hard for me. |
