I also heard them say this at the show in NYC. The beautiful thing about music is we all kind of hear what we want to hear and find our own meaninng. The whole military thing makes perfect sense but isn't ours a little more meaningful? I almost wish they never explained any song so we could debate forever. |

I love this song. I'm gonna say it is my favorite song on the CD (I know it is early to say that) but it is the song I keep putting on when I go into my car. I love the lines
"There is desire to fight, but I have nothing to prove" basically meaning I still have the fire in me, but you're not worth my fist. I can only go down from here and I rather stay on top.
I also love "They turn us loose in the night, a fucking Jekyll and Hyde" but I wont explain it bc it is too simple to grasp and I don't want to insult anyone reading this. |

This is not my favorite song on the CD, but it definitely hits home more than any other one. It's about being a boy and getting into trouble. Girls wont appreciate this song as much as the guys will. I loved the first verse, but couldn't relate to the second one. I'll go over a few lines that hit close to home.
1. "cause i was just thirteen when i got my first taste of danger standing by the church i had a bottle and a pen in my hand" immediately brought me back to my child hood. I was probably around 14 when I was started drinking alcohol and doing minor graffiti with a black marker.
2. "i said "father, i'm sorry, i just don't know what to do with this anger"misbehavior is correctable, i know this wasn't part of you plan" is another powerful line. Luckily for me my behavior was corrected, but I grew up with a lot of people who ended up in jail. Not because they were born into bad families or had a hard child hood, but just simply because they didn't know what to do with their anger.
3. "but little fucks like us we were always receiving instruction,and you could burn our cloths you could wash out the ink and the dye" This is something that adds to kids acting out. I remember being younger and people always telling me what to do for whatever reason. What they failed to inform you (but most kids figure out) is the more rules you break the more respect you earn amongst your peers. Looking back I realize how stupid it was to do most of the things I did, but can relate to any kid who decides to make the same stupid decisions.
4. "but you can't look me in the eye and say you don't feel like a little destruction and the kids are lining up on the wall and they're ready to die" I must admit I still do feel like a little destruction. But now that I am a little older and a lot wiser I will pass. I have seen too many young men lined up on the wall as they were being arrested which inevitably killed their life.
P.S - Sorry if this was not a direct meaning, but it sparked up a few memories and thought I'd share with the rather small Airborne community. |

I don't know how true this song is, but either way it is a really good short song by TATE. Such wonderful lines like "It was shot gun forest wedding And they forgot to bring the gun" and "Now my dad says fuck the details, Just keep your head down hard, Ya got to find yourself alone before you'll find the eyes of God"

This song is about being on tour. He promises his girl that he loves her and she's his one and only(We'll be back soon, You're my favorite one), but after a few months on the road he gets wrapped up in his life as a rock and roll star. He knows that she's his favorite, but doesn't think she can stay faithful due to fear of being along. He starts thinking of terrible thoughts of her with someone else (And a lie, you don't need anyone) and then they begin to argue (And the screams, the wails, and the call,The headiness of the Fall) and lose touch.
Even though he tries to play it off like he's a big rock star and doesn't need her he can't lie to himself. He starts thinking about her more and more (But then all at once your head starts to swell, And you can feel her breath on your skin). Thinking about former memories so much that he can feel her. These memories refuse to leave his head (If I let you stay, the same spot today). Slowly these memories start destroying the bad ones (And you're standing beside her, The light from inside her,
Filling up the darkness in your head)
The thought slowly take over his mind where he can't think about anything else (And you've drowned in the teasing). He then realizes that all of this fame was to impress the girl he left behind (You've forgotten the reason, The muse inspired the art). He then regrets everything and wishes for nothing more just to go back to day one and hear her say that she loves him for who he is and not the rock and roll star he has become (You'd give anything for, Her to say them once more,The words you believed at the start) because it was all for a woman, it was all for her. |

@Ickythumpz it does sound a little poppish, but be aware that this is the single and it probably is designed to. It doesn't take away from the fact that it is a good song. It's certainly not my favorite Airborne song, but it's still really good.
as far as the meaning I don't even want to insult anyone's intelligence. It's about a good guy who is constantly being nagged and accused by his girlfriend. |

I think this is something much more deeper than drugs. I think the drugs are a simple metaphor for a girl or woman. I think it is about him having a girl who loved him and was addicted to him and he just decided to end it because "he knew that he could". This CD is growing on me more and more every day. |

I disagree with KJR PAT. The narrator has not accepted anything. Yeah, he realizes he lost, but he is not 100% sincere, with wishing her a happy life. He realizes he can never love anyone else. That is why he downplays the idea of love saying, "It's only love it's not real anyway" While he wishes her happiness he faces the fact that he will never be happy without her. This could be the best AFS song ever. |

See through the eyes of a Lion? Are you a fucking tard? It's see through the eyes of a LIAR. Besides that it's a great song full of great lines. "You only can hide who you are, if you don't care where you're going anyway" Amazing. Obviously about a guy who has changed the way he thinks about life and love. He had a few bad past relationships and accepts the fact that it was his fault, but he wants everyone to realize that he has changed. This is a top 2 song on this great CD |
