| This song is amazing. The Bandits version was good, but this one is even more powerful. Amazing lyrics. | |

this song is amazing. I wish they'd put some downloadable version up! it seems clear though that it's about a relationship, how it started- they were just friends, and it quickly became something else- and how it ends- with references to "now we're gone" and such, and of course, the chorus. "through the calm i waited for the storm and all through the night you feel so right" this to me is saying that the entire time he knew it was going to end, but he tried to enjoy what he had.... "there's a thief in the choir says that i'm a liar while he steals the spotlight i take the blame there's a thief in the choir one that i admire as he steals the spotlight i'll take the blame" the chorus makes me think that the girl found someone else, who is accusing the singer of treachery and such, and he is so convincing that he takes the singer's place, and he takes the blame, unable to defend himself for what he did (or didn't) do. he admires the thief because he gets the girl... "weathering the storm" probably refers to all the crap this kinda stuff brings up in relationships that end like this... overall, I think this is another incredibly powerful song by louis xiv... sometimes it's hard to believe these are the same guys that gave us the equally amazing (in a different way!) Pledge of Allegiance. |

I think I agree more with angela than the person before. I don't doubt they had label issues since they had a shit site for a while and all, but really, it's only been a year and a half or so since KN was released, so they haven't had much more a break than most other artists between CDs. I think it's more about spiting religion (agreed) and death, as it seems to be the theme to the CD. The allusion to KN and Point/Counterpoint was pretty cool though... |

| Streetlight Manifesto – The Receiving End of it All Lyrics | 18 years ago |

this song seems to me to be about how no matter what happens it could always be worse... that shit happening is the way of life, and everyone always has some sad tale to tell, because life shits on everyone. "And we broke all our promises and baby that ain't right" "I'd like to do my part to help a friend in need, I said you could come to me, but when you needed someone most, I wasn't there," I think these parts of the song refer to regret- how there's always someone you want to be around for, if they need someone, but sometimes you can't be... and how relationships decay,. I guess... |

this song, and the whole cd, rocks anyone who downloads it though- you still need to buy it! sm is still a new band and if we all just pirate it they'll be left in the dust and shit bands like dashboard confessional will be popular while sm's awesomeness is left unknown. and that's a really depressing though. I'm the most piratey pirate you'll meet but we should all still buy this. maybe more than one copy. you know, hand them out to friends. lol |
