Ok, here's what I think. the 1st stanza has a lot if imagery that talks about the peace at the end of a powerful storm. the 2nd-4th stanzas makes me think of a grey, industrial-ish city or a place with no sunlight and joy. The wind is a force of nature, it is clean and fresh and he wants it to blow. in the last stanzas the wind frees him from his humanly social obligations, kind of like a return to nature. probably wrong, but its one way to think about it. |
