I love how the lyrics. 'Baby I don't wanna spend my life on trial for something that I did not do' Have two meanings. 1. Literally doesnt want to be put on trial while hes innocent of any wrongdoing. 2. He doesnt want to spend his life thinking of what could have been if he didnt do anything. You get? And these lines relate to how a guy thinks of what a girl thinks of him. 'Maybe if you stopped and looked around sometimes I wouldn't pass right by you Maybe it's because you are so insecure Or maybe you plain don't care Maybe it's the chase that really gets me off' The girl is just playing around, or she doesnt care about him. My take on this is. Adam and his girlfriend were at a party. Where another girl maybe an ex? Tries to get with him while they are apart during the party. Making his girlfriend jealous. Then she leaves the party and Adam goes to look for her. Adam finds her outside crying and she is asking if that girl means anything to her. He was meant to say no but I guess the Ex must still have something on him. 'I asked her to stay But she wouldn't listen She left before I had the chance to say Oh The words that were mend the things that were broken But now its far too late she's gone away' So she decides to leave and go home with him but its not the same. Theres this tension between them. Then their routine goes. 'Every night you cry yourself to sleep Thinking why does this happen to me Why does every moment have to be so hard' They go home and dont talk about it and she cries herself to sleep at night. 'The taste of her breath, I'll never get over And the noises that she make keep me awake Oh The weight of things that remain unspoken Built up so much it crushed us everyday' Then the Ex's kiss, he'll never get over. And the noises, probably cries and sniffs, keep him awake making him feel guilty. Then he realizes that he was wrong to think about his Ex so he wants to rebuild this relationship with his girlfriend. 'Of all the things I felt I've never really showed perhaps the worst is that I ever let you go, should not ever let you go oh oh oh' Haha that took a while. But thats how I imagined the music video to go. With them at a party and stuff. Not at a restaurant. :S |
