I heard that Kevin Moore really did a demo using Tori Amos' voice from an a cappella song, but I don't know which one, and have never heard the Kevin version.. but I'd love to. This song is amazing, how it somehow cuts to the truth. Which is Kevin Moore's real talent I think. |

I don't think the band realised at the time that Kevin Moore wrote the lyrics about wanting to leave the band, cos they played the song on the tour right after he left. I heard they were quite annoyed once they realised, but a few years down the line, everyone realises it was for the best for all involved, so they all get on fine again. Wow I didnt know the speech was from a Joyce novel - I'll have to look that up sometime! |

yeh i heard the girl in the magazine thing. there is also a demo version of this song with Kevin singing on it kicking around... it sounds pretty much identical apart from the timbre of voice (obviously), Portnoy's drums arent on there, some of the samples are different, and the piano outro isnt on either. I agree that Jordan Rudess suits DT much better though i prefer Kevin Moore. also, people who havent heard them yet should definately check out Moore's side project OSI, and even better, his solo stuff that he left DT for, Chroma Key. |
