for some reason the first verse I really like esp. the line "I get kicked in the face, still i come back for more" Awesome song, awesome group. i also like these guys for their vocalist. That has got to be a really hard kick to the nuts to sing that high, geez. |

Desperado is probably my favorite Eagle's song of all time. I love the piano and the vocals, plus the percussion entrance. I think this song is sung from the point of view of an older, wiser man (probably in a bar or something like that) telling a younger man (who is obviously confused about love) some tips about love and relationships. The younger man has been spending his life chasing pretty beautiful women. The singer tells him: "Don't you draw the Queen of Diamonds, boy. She'll beat you if she's able, You know the queen of heats is always your best bet." He then tells the younger man:"Now it seems to me, some fine things, Have been laid upon your table, But you only want the ones that you can't get" The singer makes the younger man realize that he has many nice girls that really love him, but they just weren't pretty enough for him. This is an Awesome song!!!!! |

To me this song is about a guy telling a girl that he cares for that she can forget all of the other guys or other people that keep using her. He tells her that she can forget them and just trust in him to give her back her personality and to make her life right. He tells her that where she is right now, she can tell him anything and everything and he will stay by her side like a real friend or lover would. I love the whole third verse before the guitar solo. The whole song really speaks to me. |

I think this is just about his amazin love of the ocean and sailing. He uses sailing his boat as an escape from his problems in life. The song is also saying something along the lines of the sea/water/ocean is his only true love, "I've never been romantic And sometimes I don't care I know it may sound selfish But let me breathe the air" that's just my 2 cents |
