| They're criticising Christians because they're flippin' hypocrites. All the abominations that are taught against in the Bible are committed by them. They even try and justify it by twisting scriptures. It's sick. I agree with the song. | |

I love the music but I'm actually very surprised what these guys are singing about. It's basically a song about going to hell. The title itself is a bit of proof, although when I first saw it I was thinking it was meaning about the hardships of life. But when I read the lyrics I could easily see it's talking about the end of the world and having to give an account before God. You can see it's about hell by the lines like "in flames of death's eternal reign", "on the blackest wings of hell's terrain we watch the lands become in fire and flame" and "day after day this misery must go on". The thing is, other than knowing they're gonna go to hell, they also know they're going to have to give an account to God for all the wickedness they've done in their lives. E.g. "Now here we stand with their blood on our hands" and "we feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days". According to the Bible, Jesus is going to reign on the earth for a thousand years. The "thousand days" that they sing about is either mistaken or a substitution for a thousand years. It's something that must happen that they can't help. They "raise their hands to the heavens above with resentment in their eyes" (the lyrics were a bit wrong). It's basically a song about the punishment that they have to take when Jesus comes back and rules with a rod of iron and the resentment and rebellion they feel in their hearts when they have no choice but to bow before the new dictator. They don't give in either though. "I'll break the seal of this curse if I possibly can for freedom of every man." |
