| Why? – Simeon's Dilemma Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Also "green" = jealous. | |
| Mogwai – Chocky Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song is a tribute to the legendary Scottish footballer Brian McClair, who was affectionately nicknamed 'Chocky'. | |
| The Courteeners – You Overdid It Doll Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Really, it was no effort. If you find something offensive should you not say? | |
| The Courteeners – You Overdid It Doll Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is offensive, this band is terrible. Post-Doherty, skag-glamorising gibberish. As long as the girls don't get involved like, poor little lambs can't handle it. |
|
| Q And Not U – A Line In The Sand Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song pre-dates the war by a good couple of years. | |
| Los Campesinos! – You! Me! Dancing! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I love that this references Bis, are these not too young to remember them? | |
| ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead – Richter Scale Madness Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It sounds like "1995 was a wonderful year to die, but I hear 1997 is going to be even better" to me. | |
| Lady Sovereign – 9 To 5 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Agree completely, hopefully there's still time for her. | |
| The Pigeon Detectives – This is an Emergency Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This line confuses me: "And i could never connect to the people i don’t know from back home" It's quite poorly written I think and I'm unsure who it is he's actually talking about. Good tune though. |
|
| The Streets – Blinded by the Lights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Anyone know who 'Ramo' is? | |
| Black Kids – Hurricane Jane Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I really think this song is about weed. "What's the point in making a bed?" is definitely something a pot fiend would say anyway. |
|
| Hot Chip – And I Was A Boy From School Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think you're telling porkies there Dixon. | |
| Dillinger Four – Mosh For Jesus Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Nice quote arno, great song too. | |
| Sleater-Kinney – The End of You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Such a great song, then you see the lyrics and it's even better. (I'm not great at working out what they are singing) | |
| Looper – Impossible Things #2 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| That link is dead, I was intrigued as well... | |
| Kelly Rowland – Work Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Utter filth. | |
| Girls Aloud – Control Of The Knife Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I believe the title is a reference to the Bee Gees edition of the Lucas and Walliams 'Rock Profiles'. Well, I hope it is. | |
| Q And Not U – A Line In The Sand Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Isn't it "why won't you ever stop"? I struggle to understand them at the best of times though, I've just had a good laugh comparing the lyrics on here with what I've been singing for years. | |
| Jejune – Coping With Senility (lowlife Owns A Pen) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| No idea what it means but the title is taken from an episode of the Simpsons. Or at least I think it is. | |
| Six By Seven – One Easy Ship Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"25th into 26th" I always thought. This guy really hates Christmas and winter in general. See also 'New Year'. I'm with him to be honest. |
|
| The Rakes – All Too Human Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I always thought he sings "I've had a messy old year" rather than "I'm at the mercy of you". But then what do I know? Nothing. |
|
| Sleater-Kinney – Burn, Don't Freeze! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"arson is no way to make a love burn brighter" helluva line that, bravo! |
|
| dEUS – Instant Street Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
One of my favourite songs ever. It's about drugs. |
|
| Idlewild – Last Night I Missed All The Fireworks Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Na, it's clearly about geopolitics. I don't think these lyrics are right either, although I've not heard the song in years so can't supply any better ones. |
|
| Idlewild – The Bronze Medal Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| For me this is about coming from a small town. | |
| Idlewild – Self Healer Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
No it isn't and no it doesn't. Great sound though yeah. |
|
| Mansun – Six Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Basically, he's not happy. Great song though. |
|
| The Smiths – I Know It's Over Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about Johnny Marr though right? | |
| The Cribs – Our Bovine Public Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Ok, I think jade is right in that it's about bands rather than the press, not sure about the police stuff like... One thing I don't understand though is all the "you'd never exist without us" and "I'll never forget how all this begun" lines. First one because, well frankly who only exists because of the Cribs? Great band as they are I just don't see it. Secondly, all what begun? The re-birth of indie? Which the Cribs were some three or four years late to themselves! I like the band and I like this song, and I'm probably way off but they are the two bits I'm confused about. |
