i cant see how everyone thinks this song is about god and religion...i think the whole south africa way of spelling "grey" is just a coincidence cuz im pretty sure that this is the last of the 3 part series starting with "Ill back you up...Halloween...and Grey Street" I have trouble comprehending this as him talking about god as a girl and such...although i understand there are soooooo many different versions and lyrics for this song it just seems wierd and dont think theres a chance in hell that halloween is written about god like the last post says especially cuz in grey street (at least the version i have) says "she prays to god most every night...and i highly doubt that line means that god is praying to god????halloween is about julia grey denying dave 3 times when he proposed to her and then grey street is about dave trying and trying to get back to her no matter how many times she denies him, i see him as being the "stranger sneaking outside her door" but thats just me...tell me what u think i guess? |

this song is soooo powerful...its a sad and angry song but its honestly gives me goosebumps everytime i listen to it cuz it just gets me everytime the emotion that he has in this song and the love he had for julia and BLackey is correct about it being a trilogy of "I'll Back You Up" "Halloween" and "Grey Street" (My personal favorite dave song!!! if you havent heard it which would blow my mind, please listen to it...incredible!!!!) I saw someone said that this song was named halloween cuz he proposed to her on halloween but thats not true its actually because he played it for the first time in concert on halloween and since we all know dave can have trouble naming all his songs (#36, #41, etc.) he decided to call it halloween it has nothin to do with the proposals as far as i know...i dont know who would propose on halloween anyways, it seems kinda wierd to me lol...all in all this is a great song in a lyrical sense in the way that he shows his emotion and also the instumentals just blow you away and really get you into the music...love it!!! |

I love this song cuz its sooo true and relatable to alot of people...my prespective is a lil different than the rest, cuz im the guy who wants the girl in this situation but instead has to watch her go back to this guy everytime cuz she has the feeling that its the right thing even tho he treats her right at the beginning to get her back on his side and then treats her like shit once shes caught up in it all...i actually ended up dating the girl for 5 months or so and then what do you know? right back to him...doesnt make u feel the best...although i also feel like im relating to this song in the sense that i feel like giving her more chances and giving us another shot...so i kinda hit all sides of the spectrum on this song which is prly why i love it sooo much!!!! |

I saw skillet this past week with breaking benjamin, seether, and three days grace (best concert ive ever been to btw!) and this was by far my favorite song that they performed. I had heard it before and just fell in love with the powerful yet simple lyrics! keep rockin, great band! |
