| this song is way to fuked up to explain all at once, but the first 4 lines say that hollywood(our city) eat up seeds, or people with potential, and destroys them, because they want to convert everyone to the same software version( the same views) and this evilness causes the city to become toxic, hence its toxicity level....oh and somethign about a tire hub, maybe its like looking at life through the eyes of the used, and abused, which is what the rest of the lines might be about. | |

i used to think this song was about government viewing your last freedom(your dreams), but after reading what ubwcolt had to say about judgement ive come to this conclusion: first off, as shown in the music video, this song takes place in "June's" dream. Serj plays the part of a higher power as shown in the line: "Dreams are made winding through my head" The witch, whose hair creates the winding maze that June is running through represents fate, she is trying to escape her death... not going to happen. "The spiders all in tune" refers to the spiders as the spinners of June's web of life. They are all in tune or in other words they wait at gods command(serj in the music video) "The storming of poor June" is gods way of saying he is going to pull an all out offensive on June(storming, as in attacking) but he feels sorrow for her "your lives are open wide" is just a way of saying fate can end you at any moment it choses to, open for the taking --the questionable line, to everyoen it seems, even myself is the line"The V-chip gives them sight" this part is basicly a total guess, but i know soad like to use synonyms(spelling?antonyms?u know what i mean) and i see the vchip as a reference to the vchip installed into tvs which shelters children from adult content, sight is a reference to belief, in a higher power, so what it is saying is that people still believe in god, and ultimate peace because they are to sheltered from the real world, where peace will never be reached (this might be how June is dieing, genocide?) it leads into saying June is Dieing(the life running through her hair is saying she is losing her life, its slipping away) it says shes aproaching gods "guiding light", her shallow years in fright is saying she is dieing at a young age. the chorus is refering to the part after the solo, as the chorus finaly develops into "Before you know I will be waiting" which means life is quick and unexpectedly short, god is waiting to take you into his " guiding light" and finaly it turns to "Dreams are made winding through her hair" which shows that she is part of god now, or that she has died and is in heaven. every time serj says awake it is a way of warning or giving June a last chance to escape her fate. and as he says "all awake" in the last chorus, he is telling people to wake up before its to late, and realize what is going on in your life, before it is all over. |
