wow..no one commented about what they think this song is about. well here goes:
i think its about a single parent "now my lover's gone, im lost and alone" who is raising the children. so the parent is telling the child that they're here for them. but as the child grows older, theres no way to make the child stay so the parent is just accepting that fact and won't think about it until the child actually moves out and no longer needs the parent, leaving the parent without a lover or a child to take care of. thats my first impression anyway. |

this song is definitely about suicide. a person is trying to convince their friend not to die because they need them and that there are things to live for life "bare feet in the summer, open windows at night". trivial things, but still brings some happiness to life. |

i agree with what most of you are thinking..that its about a prostitue and a customer. but another thought about the "bloodstained gown" could be that the customer paid for a virgin because he "wants this one to hurt". just thought i'd add that thought. |
