| Cake – Where Would I Be? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I feel like this song is brief and vague for a reason, and all of you could be right. It seems like one of those songs that are more about the writer expressing a deep, perhaps even abstract emotion, while making it relate-able to its listeners for a broad spectrum of issues in one's own life. Very well-done. This being said, the tune of the song is very melancholy so it is not too vague. | |
| Cake – It's Coming Down Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I've always liked this song, but never actually looked at the words for the song. When you take out the repetition, it kinda looks like the story you tell your best friend when you're really upset and don't want to go into much depth because it'll just hurt more to talk about it. it's raining outside. you've nowhere to hide. she's asking you why you think it's funny. she's leaving your house. she had to get out. she's mad, and she'll take her mattress with her. you lie on the floor. she's slamming your door. she's gone, and she's wearing your red sweater. The repetition of "it's coming down" begins to mean more as the song progresses and you hear more of the fragmented story. It begins to sound like that phrase you repeat in your head that keeps eating away at you, or the sentence you say to yourself over and over when you feel like all is lost. It's coming down. It's all crashing down around me. Everything I had is gone. This doesn't feel real, this can't be happening. |

| Green Day – Viva la Gloria! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I haven't gotten a chance to listen to the whole album in order and interpret it all yet, but here's what I think about this song in particular: To me, it sounds like Gloria is a personification of America's "glory" and pride, and the title can be translated to something like "long live the glory". "Gloria, where's your undying love?/Tell me the story of your life" is asking, 'what happened to the way our country was supposed to work in the beginning? why doesn't anyone seem to care anymore? what happened to the nationalists? tell us about America's history so we can find when everything went wrong.' "You blast your name/In graffiti on the walls" - patriotic, but rebellious, graffiti that citizens do in attempts of showing the government that they don't like what's happening "Falling Through broken glass that's/Slashing through your spirit/I can hear it like a jilted crowd" ... "bonfires" - riots breaking out in more attempts to grab the govt's attention "The cracks of my skin can prove/As the years will testify" sounds kinda like they're mentioning the Statue Of Liberty [how it's aged and turned green from rust over time, and it's been there through a lot of history]. Or, "the cracks of my skin" are wrinkles from an adult or elderly person that has watched the country pretty much turn to shit throughout their life. |

| That's like, the perfect explanation. Ever. | |

Yeah, it's dancer, not denser. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense though. Like, if you were to pluralize the sentence. "Are we human[s], or are we dancer[s]?" I guess for some it might be a hard concept to grasp, but when you really think about it, it makes sense. Although denser makes sense as well. |

| Actually I believe it's in Japanese, since like Peppery said, it's based on the Japanese version of Pokemon. | |

| Green Day – Redundant Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Sounds to me like it's the same old relationship, day in and day out. But nonetheless, at the end of the day, he still loves her to pieces. 'Cause "I love you"'s not enough; I'm lost for words. - meaning that he still loves her so much he can't explain it, even though frankly he's a little bored with the routine. Or, that the so-called routine relationship is exactly what he's always wanted, and he makes it sound like it's boring although it makes him love her even more for having a relationship like that. |

| The Killers – Human Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It would make sense if it were dancer because "are we human or are we dancer" makes just as much sense as "are we humans or are we dancers". It kinda seems like he's making dancers seem like their own race. | |
| Lifehouse – From Where You Are Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I really love songs like this. Really really reallyreallyreally. It doesn't have one sole, textbook meaning. It was written with a purpose of course, but the listener can easily apply it to their own life, which is what people really like doing. The ultimate simplistic message of this song is really unique... if that made any sense. My boyfriend isn't really in a stable living situation at the moment and he's not sure if he's gonna be moving out of state or not. He showed me a song called Here Without You by Three Doors Down [if you like From Where You Are, you'll like this one too] and he said he'd sing it to me every day that he was gone. I could probably sing this one back to him. |

| VNV Nation – Tempest Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I just heard this song and it kinda gives me goosebumps. It's really calm and straight-forward, but that makes it really strong. I wanna take a walk sometime after it rains or on some normal night and listen to this song. | |
