This is the most straight-forward song on the album, by far. It is talking about a prisoner, or person ruled by government, or whomever Isis is refering. The person is going crazy from "Big Brother"--as intended. |

The whole hovering element of death is this song may refer to one's soul or in the literal context--sure, a death sentence, maybe, or a person driven crazy by the panopticon. Syndic Calls really makes the listener feel the control and inevitability of a panopticon. If the listener really pays attention to the lyrics while listening to the song, he will feel the weight of the song's impending intentions. |

In addition to what has previously been posted, i believe that the most important element of this song is the line, "but resistance would be brought." I think that they are referring to nature getting back at us for destroying it. It also talks about humans destroying themselves in the first two lines, as was previously established.
The line "We crashed upon this earth" may have something to do with the band's belief in UFO's and our decendence from aliens. Any comments? Any good information reguarding aliens? |
