Here's a link to the article mentioned above: http://www.spin.com/articles/dead-weather-gang-4 If he's being serious in that article (but of course, we "can't tell when [he's] jokin"), then there's some seeerious metaphor going on here. Also, I think the second verse is- "You can hit me if you want to Do whatever makes you happy But don't take it easy on me 'Cause I don't know how to take it" |

I think the line in the second verse is actually "Like dollar-store mascara down your face." Interesting take on the phrase "look alive", TheSOADGirl. When I first heard the song, those words made me think of soccer practice when I was a kid, the coach would always yell at us to "Look alive!", as in "Pay attention, be aware!". I took Brandon's use of those words in that way, but he could certainly be using them with a double meaning. Both would apply to the song equally well. |

"Did they make up the word "orgasmatron"? " Nope, Brandon's apparently seen the movie Barbarella ;) And while the song could certainly be translated literally to be about sex, the feeling I get is that Brandon's describing the act of artistic creation as being an orgasmic experience. |
