| Hurt – Thank You For Listening Lyrics

before i actually listened to this song, when i first heard it for instance, it felt personal. as corny as this sounds, i felt like it was writen for me. obviously it was not, but then i looked into it & decided that it was written for his fans. i agree with njcollins on that one. he has so much love and appreciation for the people who are truely affected by his music. this song is for the people who can feel his pain when they listen to him scream. if you think i sound rediculous, you aren't listening close enough. |

the song is about you. if you've heard his music and just "bob your head 'cause you're not even listening" he puts his heart and soul into his music and you just fucking sit there pretending to know what he's talking about. don't listen, "feel, damn you, feel" feel the emotion, the heartache he endured to bring you the beauty in front of you. the song is also directed toward a woman he loved or still loves, who acts the way most of you do toward his music. hence the play on words, at all & et al. you people make me sick. fuck, open up a little |

| Hurt – On The Radio Lyrics

i am going to have to disagree, Highly. this song seems to be about him hearing his music on the radio and it making him feel stronger for the first time since he lost the woman he loved. he says he doesn't want to miss her anymore. he doesnt want her to take away this feeling of worth he gets from his music. maybe if she hears him on the radio, she will come backto him and "heal" him |

| Hurt – Assurance Lyrics

the song is obviously directed toward a woman, but they aren't broken up. he says "though we've been over, weeping over Our last goodbyes
Well I learned to live with these fatal gifts
And still you're mine" it sounds like him and the woman he loves are having trouble because of his music. he says "and you need assurance that everything's gonna be fine... And so I wrote you this song But you won't sing along to me" if you really listen to the last four tracks on this album, they seem to have similar themes, starting with this song |

agree with Anirak. The lyrical content of this song reminds me alot of that of "Judas" by A Perfect Circle. Both artists are angry at their parents for their faith in god and lack of faith in them |
