| David Bowie – The Hearts Filthy Lesson Lyrics

A very, very Strange yet catchy backdrop to the ending of Se7en.The heart's filthy lesson,me thinks,is the dark knowledge of the evil we are cappable of ,as Somerset and Mills tragically dicover in the movie. Can't really say I understand how all the lyrics fit in though especially the lines,
"Paddy,who's been wearing Miranda's clothes?"
I think I'll understand more when I listen to the album as a whole. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Closer Lyrics

The opening credits of Se7en play a version of Closer that kinda obliterates most of the lyrics the song is famous(or notorious for that matter) for.Fincher used the song to show Doe's need for his victims as they brought him 'closer to god.'Different from what the narrator of the downward spiral meant but nevertheless linked to its themes of violence and the need for control. |

| Nine Inch Nails – The Great Below Lyrics

Having heard the great below(and many others)watching and all that could have been,it's impossible for me to think of this song without recalling the brilliant visuals surrounding Reznor on stage.I think of the place of which the narator speaks as a dark, deep corner of the mind and not ecessarily death. It's his complete abandonment, taking to the sea that engulfs and washes him away. |

| Nine Inch Nails – La Mer Lyrics

Watching Reznor perform La Mer live,I was struck by the sheer beauty of this piece especially coupled with those gorgeous visuals that dominated the fragility tour.It starts with a certain peace and a touch of whimsy and then moves deeper with a haunting sadness.Beautiful. |
