Hah... wow. We have...paranoia, panic attacks, insomnia, lust & romance, and at the risk of sounding like one of those retards who says "it's about drugs" EVERY time he comes across a song, I'ma add drugs to the list. Now...don't get me wrong, I never call "it's about drugs", but I'm sure you're familiar with the term "sex, drugs, and rock & roll", plus the issues with some of our celebrities having turned to drugs. To be honest, the song kind of reminds me of Salvia (there was a special on G4 TV (http://g4tv.com) last night), what with "your mind will be altered" and bits like that. I wonder which, if any, it really is. The wonders of poetry, eh? |

I know what this song is... it's exactly what's happening to me right now. I'm from Virginia and I'm going to be eighteen on the eleventh of this July. I met a girl from Oregon who will be sixteen in June, which means I have two years until we can be together. By that time, I'll have moved to Minnesota, so the distance isn't too bad. What is bad is that I've had sixteen or seventeen failed relationships over the internet, so I've sworn it off entirely to avoid yet more heartbreak and further depression. As tempted as I am to be with her now, I'm horrified that it might ruin everything we could possibly be. I'm worried that we'll fall apart no matter what before we ever get to touch each other. It scares the hell out of me... This is exactly what the song says to me...that he'll make it work...and that he'll cling to what he has with his life. |

Filled with rope makes no sense in virtually any context, especially not THIS. "Now you're velvet rope" is a fancy way of saying that they're velvet rope material, velvet ropes being the red carpet's big brother and sister (twins no less...how poetic). They're the kind of crowd-guide/block used for celebrity appearances. As for "take you flying", I'm not sure if it's that, "your platinum," or something different entirely. Basically, the song is overall the guy hitting on someone, trying to entice her with fame and fortune, saying that he could take her to the top and make her a celebrity. ...I wonder what her reaction might be. |

There's no indication of whether he's dead or not. I'd have to say that life - not death - tore them apart. It could simply have been the painful decision that they needed to part because they were no good for each other. ...I visualize a grotto when I hear this song. Clear water, dripping stalactites, smooth pillars, plenty of blues. ...That was -before- I saw the album art. |

I just read the album booklet. It's hard to read, but the chorus DOES begin with "When your own have died," not "When you're old and tired." WHY MUST THEY CROSS SO MANY THINGS OUT IN THIS THING??!?!! THESE AREN'T NOTES!! X_X |
