one of my very close friends died in an accident recently, and this song is so relatable to me at the moment. to me, this song is a message from 'beyond the grave'. "there's really no way to reach me, because im already gone" is something she would have said; she was so blunt about things like this. "there goes the downpour" - prepare yourself for what is to come "here goes my fare thee well" - there was no time for goodbyes, "only so many words we could say spoken upon long-distance melody" - too many things to say, but they will never be said "maybe in five or ten yours and mine will meet again straighten this whole thing out" - one day we will meet again and say exactly how we feel "but this is the distance" - this is it and you cant do anything about it i think this song is open to everyones person interpretation, but this is what this song means to me. x |
