I think it's about how much he loves her and he does all he can to make her happy. He would sacrifice anything for her or to keep her. He ignores her faults through their relationship. Eventually he decides to "hold her up to the light" and see the faults he was ignoring before. Then he says "life comes full circle, I guess we lost the war" meaning their relationship ended. I don't know, that's just what I got. |
