When i found out that this song was about a guy named Manny, with disablities, I related to this song so well. My friend died in 04 of an incurable disease, and he was the strongest boy i ever knew. the lyrics like "Manny don't need no comforting He don't ask of the world to bring him up Ain't gonna see him waitin' on waitin' on waitin' on the day " and "Manny gonna go where the rabble go He gonna roll down the world and he bring me up" describe my friend exactly. His name is Mattie, and it just goes so perfectly. By the way, Mattie was a poet. You guys should buy any of his "heartsongs" poetry books. he started writing when he was 3. They are beautiful words. |
