Malajube – Montréal -40 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is infectious! |
Stars – Set Yourself on Fire Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Don't we spend a good portion of our lives sleeping? I'm pretty sure that's what the "20 years of sleep..." refers to. Yes, the only thing is death. Sleep seems to be preparation for death. [I'm talking about the last stanza, by the way.] Amazing song. I love it. |

I personally believe it is about society's high standards. |
Socratic – Storms Over Parades Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song... is lovely. It explains how difficult it is to be within your own body. The limitations of age, mind... everything. |
Socratic – The Dense Indents Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I agree with gatsbycab4cutie; She's used the narrator originally for fun. Yet, over time I believe they really fell for each other. "This is how I feel. I wait for food that is already spoiled." From the narrator's perspective: She's married. She's a cheater. I'll wait for her, but how will I know she'll leave him for me? From the husband's perspective: I wait for her everynight. She comes home late. She's a slut. And yet, I love her. She's become a part of my fiber. I need her like I need food. |
Socratic – She's The Type Of Girl Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is very weak musically. However, there is a lot of decipher. The shitty band from Chicago? One guess --- Fall Out Boy. Overall, the lyrics aren't really... cohevise? |
Socratic – B To E Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song. Enjoy life while you can. That's the real message. |
Owen Pallett – He Poos Clouds Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's a struggle between reality and a fantasy world. The narrator is in love with all these fictional characters. They are perfect; they live in sort of utopia compared to our harsh reality. And yet, the narrator cannot be loved by the characters. He may control them (through pages and videogame controllers), but they will never care for him. The narrator may guide them and hope for their survival, yet these fictional characters are oblivious to the narrator. The "he whispers to the author" part seems to be a wish for recognition from the character. These fictional lovers contrast greatly with the narrator's real world. All of the real people the narrator has ever loved was a bad influence. And so the narrator laments; he will never find true love. |
Owen Pallett – This Lamb Sells Condos Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Prisoners, be silent, be silent and be sharp Can you hear them talking? Listen through the wall: Nothing to do, nothing to do Living rent-free is boring me Got no use for my PE Degree Got no use for my pedigree" ^His voice is so angelic when he sings this. Sure, he struggles to hit the high notes, but his voice pierces your heart. This song sounds amazzingg live! |
Owen Pallett – None Of You Will Ever See A Penny Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ill-begotten wealth? I suppose the old, dying man amassed is fortune in an unhonest way. He now realizes his sins and refuses his family to benefit from his wrongdoing. The old man wants his family to lead honest lives. |
Owen Pallett – Took You Two Years To Win My Heart Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I honestly think it is "The love you ignited If I had fighted and roared... Bellowing into the rainy night" Why would I believe this? Because it's as if the narrator is blaming himself for the horrid end. If he had put up a fight and convinced the lover to stay... well... who knows? His heart might not have been broken. The couple would've stayed together. It's just my humble take on this song. Anways, I'm new, and I'm not quite sure how to edit lyrics. Hehee. Sorry. But this song is lovely. |
Owen Pallett – Please Please Please Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song is about people settling for less than they deserve. It may even be about how superficial "love" can be. I love the desperation in his voice when he sings "Where did you bottle up the gentleman, the gentleman?" It's as if the lover has changed; the man he loved is no longer there. |
Owen Pallett – Hey Dad Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"I should've sent you out for hockey" I think it's more than resentment between father and son. If only I knew what he was referring to throughout the song! The said "miracle" seems like something done for the sake of others and halfheartedly. |
