| I think this song is actually about her Dad, who also used to play the piano. She has a few songs about him on her independent albums, too. | |

| Tegan and Sara – So Jealous Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"There I am in the morning I don't like what I see There I am in the morning I don't like what I see " I think she's more referring to herself, rather than someone else like someone said. she see's herself in the mirror when she wakes up and hates what she's become; jealous, out of contact with family/friends, etc. and "I want the ocean" might mean like. she wants everything? or she wants something she cant have, she wants something that belongs to no one, she wants something that belongs to everyone else, something along those lines. can't quite put my finger on it. |

| Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton – Bore Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Ive never been good with interpretations, but. I think Emily's saying that everything today is so policed and your limited in everything you do, and everything is regulated in some sense. I think she misses the days where people had a higher sense of freedom and could be more individual without someone telling them theyre wrong for doing so. | |
