| I believe that if you listen to Where is the Love by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway, you will see that this song is about falling in love with someone only to have them fall back in love with the person they were with when they met you. Miss Flack is the "catch" that Donnie is trying to get, but instead he ends up "charming the one who gave up on her". He makes the guy she was with before want her back, and she goes back to him. Then they also throw in the previously covered references to old song showing that they were created because of troubled thoughts and self-esteem, most of which seem to be related to losing a catch under similar circumstances in the past. I think the overall point is that most songs are about losing someone you love. | |
