| So I guess this song is about something.... maybe a professional WNBA player who becomes untimely pregnant after falling in love... or something. | |

There is so much to look into and interpret within these lyrics. I would really appreciate seeing some peoples thoughts on what the situation here is. I can make a few connections, with a 'Forehead Dance' being deep thought and concentration perhaps. Perhaps the number 7 being significant in some way as well. Though I find the chorus the easiest to draw references from, all of the lines speak and reiterate a key theme of which I have not yet discovered. (Jeez is Threehead some kind of super positional reference!?) |

I too believe this is an amazing song, easily one of their best. I also hear "trading years as active camouflage." Which I can only hope and pray is also a Halo reference :D |

While I agree with most of these statements, I would have to say "You could sell your baseball cards just to pay your rent" has a very different meaning. I believe this refers to a love of hers willing to trade his childhood for the new, grown-up life he is now living. One can reference the ends of each sentence in each verse as metaphor for aging and doing all of the activities in the first part of each sentence (and life!). It may also help to explain that perhaps she has broken into a fit of hopeless despair due to being a victim of prolonged circumstance such as work; so it would seem more fitting that she would be able to sing so nonchalantly about such meaningful things. I believe the music itself brings out the emotions far better than her voice, however anything less would have sounded very hokey/country in my honest opinion. |
